These beautiful, unripened strawberries are nestled comfortably in a homemade garden box in my back yard, anxiously awaiting heavier doses of sunshine. Here in Gresham, the constant cloud cover and incessant rain have lingered months beyond their welcome. The lack of sun, not to mention overdose of slugs, has severely stunted the growth of our berry youngin’s. However, in their prolonged toddler stages, these strawberries are still quite gorgeous to look at. Can’t wait for their plump, red, sweet transformation. My mouth waters just thinking about it.
