Back in the beginning at MHCCIM (fall 2007) GD150’s project 6 was about developing a typographic logo design. Using a 5″ square box (my box needed a little more depth), we were to design at least three different compositions using two letters (three for me!) focusing on the intriguing positive and negative shapes created from our letters while using a balanced 50/50 weight distribution between the positive and negative shapes. We were to stay black and white, tho’ gray could be used if helpful to the overall design. Later we could determine a color palette along with a series of color combinations…my goal is to learn how to create a stained glass/transparent effect as one of my color options. For now, these are the variations I have developed. This series reflects a bit of my own personality — a bit stiff and standard at first, but then as things start to loosen up, so might I!
